Business Development Person

Nature and Scope of this position:

This is a progressive position within The Staff Room created to help in a couple of capacities. By generating new business and providing customer service to existing clients, will enable loyalty and trust. General responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to; contacting potential clients, following up on leads, continual contact with existing clients, working closely with sales and marketing and office admin. Arranging meetings, presenting and educating our services and updating on new legislation and booking HR audits to clients new and existing. Working from home, on the road and in the Pickering head office through out the week, every day is different. You need to be flexible on demand. New tasks are on going at The Staff Room, no two days are alike! The President requires a sales report on a weekly basis. There is a quota you are responsible for reaching on a weekly basis and this will be discussed and reviewed monthly. In order to keep this position exciting, we offer incentives, bonuses and challenges. There is about 10% cold calling/emailing.

  • generate and qualify leads
  • source and develop client referrals
  • prepare sales action plans
  • make sales calls to new and existing clients
  • develop and make presentations of company services to current and potential clients
  • develop sales proposals and negotiate with clients
  • present sales contracts
  • maintain and update sales activity records in database
  • respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person
  • ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships
  • participate in sales events
  • monitor competitors
  • Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
